The Togolese government is offering 40 excellence scholarships for the current academic year to Masters and Doctoral students at the public universities of Lomé and Kara.
This initiative, announced under the Project to Support the Reform of Higher Education in Science and Engineering (PARESI 2), aims to strengthen advanced training in priority technical fields.
The University of Lomé will receive 25 scholarships (15 for doctoral studies, 10 for Masters), while the University of Kara will receive 15 (10 doctoral, 5 Masters). Targeted disciplines include key sectors in the national development strategy such as agriculture, transport, mathematics, and computer science.
Each annual scholarship, valued at 3 million CFA francs, covers both academic fees and institutional support. For Master’s programs, this includes 2.5 million CFA francs for registration, documentation, and research expenses, along with 500,000 CFA francs to support program administration. Doctoral program funding includes 300,000 CFA francs for registration, 200,000 CFA francs for documentation, 2 million CFA francs for research-related expenses (articles, conferences, publications), and 500,000 CFA francs to support the doctoral school.
Applications are being accepted until May 23, 2025, through the supervisory ministry’s online portal
