The Unipod center at the University of Lomé in Togo is hosting the 11th edition of Internet Society Day (ISOC-Togo) this week. The event features a forum focused on Internet governance and digital issues, particularly in the context of rapid technological advancements and the rise of artificial intelligence.
The multi-day event, which began on Monday, May 5, 2025, has gathered over 80 participants from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society.

Activities include a national school on Internet governance, a youth forum, and multi-stakeholder negotiation simulations. “This forum is unique because it brings together, on an equal footing, all stakeholders in the digital ecosystem to reflect on the country’s digital future,” stated Vitus Emmanuel Agbenowossi, President of ISOC-Togo.
Discussions are centered on key areas such as digital infrastructure, public policy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, the impact of social media, and opportunities for young people within the digital revolution. The overarching goal is to position Togo as a significant participant in the ongoing fourth industrial revolution.
