Lomé, Togo is hosting the “Africa Leads” meeting this week, bringing together stakeholders involved in projects financed by the World Bank Group in West and Central Africa. The meeting’s objective is to mobilize additional resources for structuring projects and to accelerate development outcomes in the region.
The three-day event, organized under the auspices of the Togolese government, gathers technical partners, government officials, and experts to share best practices, particularly in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, and social impact assessment.

Ousmane Diagana, World Bank Vice President for West and Central Africa, emphasized that development is a shared responsibility.
Kodjo Adédzé, President of Togo’s National Assembly, reaffirmed during the opening of the meeting that “monitoring and evaluation are at the heart of the government’s 2025 roadmap.”
The meeting’s discussions are focused on key themes, including food and water security, domestic resource mobilization, education, energy, and skills development.
