A delegation from Togo is set to participate in the inaugural Francophonie Economic Mission (MEF) in West Africa, scheduled for June 17 to 19, 2025, in Cotonou, Benin. Last week, representatives from the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), which is organizing the event, met with the National Employers’ Council (CNP-Togo) in Lomé to promote the involvement of the Togolese private sector in this gathering.
This mission aims to establish itself as an annual event, uniting investors from the French-speaking world. It presents an opportunity for Togo and other West African nations to forge partnerships with companies that operate within the same linguistic community.
The first edition will focus on three key sectors: agribusiness, cultural and creative industries, and digital transformation. Under the leadership of Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of La Francophonie, the mission is expected to attract nearly one hundred companies and economic participants from various French-speaking regions, including Africa, the Americas, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, the Indian Ocean, and the Middle East.
For Togolese businesses, this event will serve as a platform to finalize investments and seek new avenues for collaboration, particularly in light of the commitment to enhance economic and commercial ties within the Francophonie.

In addition to business meetings, the mission will feature sector-specific workshops and company visits aimed at maximizing collaboration and investment opportunities among the diverse stakeholders in attendance, as noted by the organizers.
