Togo Opens Applications for 8th Togolese Quality Award to Drive Excellence Across All Sectors

In a renewed push to strengthen standards, competitiveness, and institutional performance, the High Authority for Quality and the Environment (HAUQE), with technical support from the Togolese Agency for the Promotion of Quality (ATOPROQ), has officially launched applications for the 8th edition of the Togolese Quality Award, also known as the Prix Togolais de la Qualité (PTQ). This flagship national competition once again invites both private companies and public organisations to showcase excellence, innovation, and commitment to quality across every corner of the country.

Importantly, the 2026 edition of the PTQ remains open to organisations operating in all socio-economic sectors. Whether in manufacturing, services, agriculture, education, health, or public administration, eligible institutions can now submit their applications. Moreover, participation is not limited to the capital. Businesses and public bodies based in Greater Lomé, as well as those in Togo’s five regions, can take part, which reinforces the national scope and inclusive nature of the initiative.

Through this programme, HAUQE continues to position quality as a central pillar of sustainable development. Instead of viewing standards as mere compliance tools, the Authority promotes them as drivers of productivity, customer satisfaction, and institutional credibility. Therefore, the PTQ serves not only as a competition but also as a learning platform that encourages organisations to improve their internal systems, leadership structures, and service delivery models.

ATOPROQ, which provides the technical backbone of the award, will once again guide applicants through the evaluation framework. This process allows participating organisations to benchmark themselves against recognised quality management standards. As a result, many past participants have used the PTQ as a springboard to upgrade their processes, attract new clients, and build stronger reputations in both domestic and regional markets.

Meanwhile, the growing interest in the PTQ reflects a wider shift within Togo’s economy. More companies now understand that quality and consistency drive long-term growth. At the same time, public institutions increasingly see performance management as a key tool for improving public trust and service efficiency. Consequently, the PTQ has become an important bridge between policy goals and real-world operational improvement.

Furthermore, the award offers visibility and recognition to organisations that invest in excellence. Winners and top performers gain national prestige, which in turn enhances their market positioning and stakeholder confidence. However, even organisations that do not win often benefit from detailed feedback that helps them refine their strategies and operations.

As applications open for this 8th edition, HAUQE and ATOPROQ encourage eligible organisations to step forward and take part. By doing so, they not only compete for a national honour but also contribute to a culture of quality that supports Togo’s broader ambitions for economic resilience, competitiveness, and sustainable development.

Ultimately, the Togolese Quality Award remains a powerful reminder that excellence is not accidental. Through structure, commitment, and continuous improvement, organisations across Togo can raise their standards and help build a stronger, more reliable national economy.
