Leading the Togolese delegation, Minister of Trade Rose Kayi Mivedor-Sambiani underscored the country’s key initiatives aimed at enhancing intra-African trade. Among the strategies mentioned were the digitalization of public services, the promotion of local raw materials, and the establishment of special economic zones (SEZs), including the Adétikopé industrial platform (PIA). It is important to note that the AfCFTA seeks to raise intra-African trade to 45% by 2045, compared to the current level of 14.6%. To reach this goal, the Togolese minister particularly highlighted the need to enhance the skills of youth and women, who are essential to the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small industries (SMIs).
