In the Dankpen 2 commune, located in the northern region of the country, a new medico-social center (CMS) valued at 300 million FCFA was inaugurated on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The center, named Anna Maria, was officially opened by the Minister of Health, Tchin Darré, with the goal of enhancing healthcare services for the local community.
This facility features a consultation unit and various health services designed to improve patient care in an area where access to medical assistance has been challenging. It is staffed with trained medical professionals who are prepared to address the needs of a largely rural population.

The establishment of this center reflects the government’s commitment to bolstering the national healthcare network by improving access to medical care throughout the country, as stated by the Ministry of Health. The opening aligns with the implementation of the universal health insurance (AMU) program, which commenced in January 2024.
Official statistics indicate that recent initiatives to develop health infrastructure have significantly improved geographical access to healthcare, increasing from 71% in 2020 to 90% in 2023.
