In Togo, the SEPHIS Foundation, dedicated to supporting women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in sub-Saharan Africa, has set a goal to raise 1 billion CFA francs to assist 125 SMEs led by Togolese women. This objective was reaffirmed by Séphora Kodjo, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, during a meeting with the Head of Government, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, on Friday, April 4, 2025.
During the discussion, Ms. Kodjo announced that funding, which will range from 5 to 100 million FCFA, will be provided in collaboration with the African Guarantee Fund and Ecobank. This funding aims to address the needs for structural support, technical assistance, and access to credit for local entrepreneurs.
It is important to highlight that this initiative is backed by a partnership agreement established with the Ecobank Foundation a few months prior. In addition to providing financial support, SEPHIS plans to enhance market access for these businesses by promoting their products in supermarkets.
