Togo will conduct its fourth Demographic and Health Survey in 2025.

The Togolese Ministry of Health has announced that Togo is preparing to conduct its fourth Demographic and Health Survey (EDST-IV) this year. The inaugural meeting of the EDST-IV steering committee took place on January 28, with participation from the Ministry of Planning and various technical and financial partners, and was chaired by the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Prof. Tchin Darre.

The EDST-IV is part of the International Demographic Health Surveys (DHS) program and will be managed by the National Statistics Institute, INSEED. The objective of the survey is to collect reliable and up-to-date data on essential health indicators, which include maternal and child health, access to healthcare, vaccination coverage, and the prevalence of diseases.

This fourth iteration follows previous surveys conducted in 1988, 1998, and 2013-2014. The findings will be instrumental in informing public health policies and development strategies in Togo.
