A delegation from Togo’s Ministry of Commerce, led by Prof. Kossivi Hounake, visited the facilities of FACAM STAIRWAY, a promising young company founded in 2023, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
FACAM STAIRWAY, initially specializing in adhesive tape production, has quickly become a significant player in import substitution, according to the Ministry.
The company produces a range of essential goods, including adhesive tapes, toilet paper, paper towels, sanitary napkins, baby diapers, boxed tissues, facial tissues, and napkins.
The recently expanded factory is meeting a growing demand for locally made basic necessities in Togo.
“Produce what we consume, consume what we produce,” Minister Hounake stated, praising the company’s commitment to environmental standards and careful packaging design.
Managing Director Carlos Attivi aims to transform the company into a training center by September, combining production with skills development. “We not only want to industrialize the manufacturing of these products locally, but also train young people and create sustainable jobs. It’s time for our country to harness its own human and technological resources,” Attivi said.
In addition to its industrial production, FACAM STAIRWAY plans to launch a free vocational training center for young Togolese people next September.
