The Union of Regional Chambers of Trades (UCRM) and the Confederation of Junior Enterprises of Togo (CJET) signed a partnership agreement in Lomé on Thursday, May 15, 2025, aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs in the craft sector in structuring and formalizing their activities.
The two organizations are committed to pooling their expertise to strengthen the management skills of young artisans, facilitate their access to financing, and improve their visibility in public and private markets. Médissa Sama, president of the CJET, emphasized that this partnership is a concrete response to the structuring needs of young craft businesses and a lever to help artisans make a living from their trade and align with regional and international standards, in order to develop peaceful relations with the administration, tax authorities, and social security.

Issa Mouhamed, president of the UCRM, stated that this agreement is more than a partnership, it’s a commitment, adding that their artisans are talented and this agreement provides the means to support them in achieving real economic recognition.
The agreement, which is renewable for five years, aims to create a more favorable environment for the development of Togolese artisans.
Notably, the CJET concluded a similar partnership a few weeks ago with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo (CCI-Togo), with the same objectives of supporting youth entrepreneurship.
