FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed suggestions that he is bitter over the outcome of the 2022 PDP presidential primary, saying his only concern is that the right processes be followed in the party.
Speaking at a media interaction in Abuja on Friday, Wike said: “I don’t know about dividing the party. Let me tell you, when you do the right thing, you get the right result. What I want in the PDP is that the right thing should be done.”
He said the party’s continued decline stems from impunity and disregard for internal democracy.
“When the issue of secretary started, I said what you are doing is wrong. Follow the process,” Wike said. “They refused, and what happened? The man went to the Supreme Court. Even after the Supreme Court’s decision, they still had problems. I said this will kill the party.”
He added: “No opposition party carries out impunity this way. You’re supposed to come together to challenge the ruling party, not destroy yourselves.”
