Mother Says Two Sons Killed In Separate Police Incidents In Delta

A woman in Delta State has said she lost two of her sons in separate incidents involving police officers.

She spoke during a condolence visit after the death of her son, Oghenemine Ogidi, a musician known as OG Millan. The visit was led by former aide to the Delta State Governor, Harrison Gwamnishu.

She said one of the incidents involved Oghenemine. She also said another son died in 2022 in a separate case involving police officers.

“Two of my sons were killed by the police,” she said while speaking in tears.

Police say an officer is in custody over the shooting of Oghenemine. They said the operation was based on intelligence about a suspect said to have a firearm.

The suspect was identified as Mene Ogidi. Police said a pistol and ammunition were recovered during the operation.

A video circulating online shows the victim restrained before the shooting.
